20 years ago this month my very first poster for Queens of the Stone Age debuted. It's hard to believe so much time has passed for this one. It was an amazing show in a small venue in Seattle with the supergroup pairing of Josh Homme, Dave Grohl, Mark Lanegan, Nick Oliveri and Troy Van Leeuwen. I met them all after the show and the rest is history as they say.
This poster laid the groundwork for what would become a regular working relationship with the band and would be shared with my brothers in arms; Jermaine Rogers and Emek. After finishing a second poster for their 2002 European tour in Fall and Winter I then pitched the idea for a tour series for the band. They agreed & the three of us under our newly christened collective, Post Neo Explosionism, created a mini series for a few dates in Japan. After those posters sold out at every date, the band agreed to give us an their entire Spring tour dates and the modern tour series was born. We would go on to create multiple tours for QOTSA, and then Audioslave & Built To Spill. It's wild that it all started with this poster and meeting.
