Presenting the art print version of my 2017 Metallica poster. 'Lady Justice' is an allegorical personification of the moral force in judicial systems. Her blindfold represents impartiality, the ideal that justice should be applied without regard to wealth, power, or other status. Often referred to as 'Blind Justice' I opted to alter her in this piece to 'Bound Justice' with her bound and gagged on the steps of the Supreme Court as a metaphor for the mistreatment of 'Lady Justice'. The definition of injustice is: the absence of justice: violation of right or of the rights of another. This was never intended to be a kinky or sexual image in any way but a jarring visual statement representing crimes going unpunished, injustices inflicted upon marginalized people and laws not being upheld to the full extent or even enacted with malice by bending the interpretation of the law.
