A commemorative poster of Pearl Jam's very first show ever.
ON SALE THURSDAY, OCTOBER 3RD AT 12 NOON PST
The date was October 22nd, 1990 and I was in attendance along with local photographer Karen Mason Blair, who had been part of the local music scene as well back in the day. She was the only photographer that was there that night and documented it. This poster is a true collaboration as I took her photo that she captured that night and literally drew my version of her picture over the photograph on another layer. I used a halftone of her pic as the shadow tones under my line art. I then created old school hand drawn text with the letters wrapping around the figures and giving them more motion. I kept the poster very simple with only three colors like it would have been back in the day. Karen and I are both thrilled with how it turned out and saw the main edition and keyline editions sell out in record time earlier this year. We were able to donate a portion of the sales to SMASH(Seattle Musicians Access to Sustainable Healthcare) as part of an event at Sleight of Hand Tasting Room in Seattle
After holding back this edition for unveiling in the month(October) that the original show took place all of those years ago we're happy to present this variant edition of the poster to you. Many of you asked and hoped that we'd offer one and now here it is in very limited quantities. A portion of the proceeds will again go to Smash as part of this sale.
