This my pencil sketch art print of David Bowie in his "Thin White Duke" era. This year marks the 50th anniversary of his watershed album Station To Station. It was the first part of his three part "Berlin trilogy" as it came to be known. He had just left LA to, once again, reinvent himself- this time with more of a European avant-garde vibe. He found that in spades in Germany with influences like Kraftwerk. The lyrics reflected Bowie's obsessions with Friedrich Nietzsche, Aleister Crowley, mythology and religion.

As to the print itself, I love the simplicity of pencil with gradation on white paper. It's honest, streamlined and elegant. No foil paper, no fancy inks, just pure and soulfully simple expression with a lead pencil. As a huge Bowie fan, this was very fun to create. I hope you enjoy it as well.

Each copy will have hand drawn smoke coming from his cigarette making every copy uniquely original. Along with my signature in pencil and JH logo emboss this will give every print a tactile and personal touch.
